On 4 December 2014 the Polish European Community Studies Association (PECSA) in cooperation with Collegium of Socio-Economics of the Warsaw School of Economics, Jean Monnet Chair of European Union and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in Poland organized 2nd European Seminar “The Welfare State during Demographic Changes in Europe”. The bilingual Polish-German Seminar was held at Warsaw School of Economics and begun with speeches by Prof. Ewa Latoszek (chairwoman of PECSA and head of Jean Monnet Chair of European Union), Prof. Joachim Osiński (Dean of Collegium of Socio-Economics) and Mr Piotr Womela (Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in Poland). Guest invited to participate in the debate included: prof. Piotr Błędowski (Head of Institute of Social Economy at Collegium of Socio-Economics, vice-president of the Polish Gerontology Society), dr Günter Dill (Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, expert on democracy, decentralization, voluntary service and e-Government), dr Grzegorz Baczewski (expert of Polish Confederation Lewiatan, chairman of 50+ Social Council at Ministry of Labour and Social Policy), Ms. Hanna Zalewska (Director of Statisics and Actuarial Forecasts Departmant in the Polish Social Insurance Institution (ZUS)), Mr. Paweł Nasiński (Statisics and Actuarial Forecasts Departmant in the Polish Social Insurance Institution (ZUS)). The debate was moderated by prof. Zbigniew Czachór (Head of Department of European Integration Research, Faculty of Political Science and Journalism, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, permanent advisor to the Commission on the European Union of the Polish Sejm).
